Making the vanilla game replayable
Unlike other mods, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Dark Signal Mod focuses on the gameplay mechanic instead of introducing new content like characters and maps. Instead, it reworks the sound and the game features. The game background music, for example, has been remastered to a higher bitrate for a more immersive experience. It’s also accompanied by new sound effects for the weapons.
For gameplay, the radiation damage has been increased, which makes the game a lot more difficult when paired with the increased presence of anomalies. Speaking of the enemies, mutants now roam Pripyat in larger packs and with greater variety. The predictable mobs in the vanilla version are no longer here, which adds challenge and thrill to your exploration. Also, the mutant spawn mechanic has been reworked, making them more aggressive.
The mod was made for the 2009 Call of Pripyat but despite that it requires a modern setup with updated graphics drivers. Also, it requires a prerequisite mod.
